In an effort to keep our citizens and first responder’s safe from COVID-19/Coronavirus, we ask people to utilize discretion when seeking police service.
Until further notice, we are asking that members of the public avoid coming into the lobby unless there is an emergency.
Please call our business line at 401-231-4533 Ext. 1138 to speak to someone for situations that might be best resolved over the phone. You may also use our online reporting system to report minor crimes without a suspect. This option may be found on our website by clicking the “Citizens Online Police Reporting System” button on the homepage.
Officers will temporarily be allowed to take reports over the phone for an issue or incident that we feel may not require a police response. Officers are not limited to the list below, but here are just a few examples:
- Calls for advice
- Neighbor disputes/civil matters
- Lost or stolen items of low/no value
- Minor vandalism
- Animal related issues that are not a threat to public safety
As always – CALL 911 for EMERGENCIES ONLY and WE WILL RESPOND IMMEDIATELY.
Thank you to everyone for their cooperation and understanding as we all make modification to the way we are accustomed.
