PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST: Applicants will be required to pass a Physical Agility Test based on standards set by the Rhode Island Police Commission on Standards and Training. WRITTEN EXAMINATION: Applicants will be required to pass a Written Examination based on standards set by the Rhode Island Police Commission on Standards and Training. ORAL INTERVIEW: Candidates who successfully complete the written and Physical Agility examination may be invited to participate in the next phase of the process, the oral interview.

COMPREHENSIVE BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION Eligible Candidates who are offered a conditional and contingent offer of probationary employment for the position of police officer must successfully pass a series of pre-employment requirements Failure to provide/submit any of the required listed information by the applicant may disqualify the candidate from any further consideration by the North Providence Police Department. In accordance with the Rhode Island Police Commission on Standards and Training, a background and police record investigation is required (FBI and NCIC). |
MEDICAL EXAMINATION
A conditional and contingent offer will also include the candidate to undergo and must successfully pass a Medical Examination.

PSYCHOLOGICAL EXAMINATION The police psychological exam is a screening designed to evaluate whether you can handle the stress that accompanies a career in law enforcement. Candidates who are given a conditional and contingent offer must successfully pass the Phycological Examination.
