Deputy Chief Robert Lepre
The Deputy Chief is responsible for the supervision and control of all department members, as well as for the enforcement of rules and regulations and all laws within the town’s legal jurisdiction. The Deputy Chief also assumes the powers of the chief in his absence.
Robert T. Lepre was appointed Deputy Chief of the North Providence Police Department in July 2021. He previously served the City of Providence community with the Providence Police Department for 32.5 years retiring at the rank of Major.
Deputy Chief Lepre believes strongly in fostering community partnerships to build trust and improve the quality of life for the North Providence residents and businesses. He promotes integrity, professionalism, and accountability for himself and the members of the North Providence Police Department.
Deputy Chief Lepre earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Rhode Island College in Marketing, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice from Roger Williams University. He graduated from the FBI National Academy Session 275 in Quantico Virginia, and the Senior Management Institute for Police Session 66 in Boston. He is the recipient of numerous awards and accommodations for excellent police work and devotion to duty.
