VIN verifications shall be conducted at police headquarters on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., except holidays, days and hours are subject to change
Vin checks are conducted on foreign (out-of-state) titles for vehicles 2001 and newer.
The only vehicles offered for inspection are those up to medium sized, two (2) axle commercial vehicles.
These include:
a. Passenger vehicles (cars and SUVs);
b. Two (2) axle combination and commercial pickup trucks;
c. Two (2) axle commercial vehicles that can be readily inspected by the officer.
The owner or dealership must provide:
An original out-of-state title, or a copy of the title if the vehicle has a loan or lien against it, prior to a VIN verification being completed. An active motor vehicle license is also required. The VIN verification will not be conducted without the necessary documentation.
Accepted forms of payment are personal check, money order or bank certified check made payable to the North Providence Police Department.

(b) Non-North Providence residents – $20.00
